Hi, I’m Molly. I am originally from Portland, Oregon, but I have been calling Australia home since 2012. My love affair with Pilates began over a decade ago when I decided to take control of my physical and spinal health. I sustained a serious back injury at 13, which resulted in persistent pain and regular discomfort well into my 20s. Despite regular treatments from an osteopath, I found that they provided only temporary relief. In expressing frustration around this short-lived reprieve and the increasing dependence I felt on someone else to provide it, I was advised to attend a local Pilates matwork studio. I began attending classes regularly, and the Pilates method - to my delight - provided the sustained relief I sought. As my strength and technique improved, my back pain and discomfort gradually vanished. For me, it seemed almost magical.

The benefits I received from Pilates emanated to all areas of my life - my mental and emotional wellbeing improved alongside my physical health. It was then that I decided to delve deeper into the philosophy, science, and practice of Pilates. In 2014, I began studying with National Pilates Training (NPT) at Melbourne-based-studio Aligned for Life for my full accreditation to teach Pilates matwork. Upon completing NPT’s rigorous training in 2015, I started teaching alongside one of my mentors, Diana Soul, director of The Pilates Studio based in Brunswick (and now Sydney). After two years of teaching there, I left The Pilates Studio to start a small Pilates business of my own. It was then, in 2017, that Grace Pilates was born. After operating out of a space in Fairfield for another two years, Grace Pilates moved to South Gippsland along with my family where I have been teaching classes ever since.

In addition to a Certificate IV in Pilates Matwork Instruction, I have completed training in Pre and Post-Natal Pilates Instruction and taught pre/post natal-specific classes. I have attended a wide variety of workshops and classes across Melbourne, which have allowed me to hone in on my teaching preferences and personal teaching style. My classes seek to calm and challenge—maintaining the mind-body connection while encouraging clients with their personal goals through dynamic, fun classes. I enjoy the precision and genius of the Pilates method and the true results that come with its practice.
